Jose Morales has 25 years of experience in satellite operations, ground segment design, implementation and testing. He is currently the head of the Earth Observation Mission Operations Division at ESA (European Space Agency) where he is responsible for planning, procuring, implementing and deploying ground segment and mission operations for ESA and the EU Earth observation program. Jose is the flight director of all Earth Observation missions operated by ESOC during all phases of flight, including critical phases such as LEOP, commissioning and de-orbiting phases.

Prior to this assignment, Jose worked for 10 years in ESA’s science program as Rosetta Deputy Spacecraft Operations Manager where he was deputy responsible for the operations of the Rosetta missions on its journey toward the comet.
