Laurie is the President of Backman Vidcom, a commercial audiovisual integrator serving clients throughout Atlantic Canada. Laurie was awarded EY Atlantic Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019. Laurie is a managing partner of the new Atlantic Angel Fund for Female Founders. She serves as a Trustee of Killam Apartment REIT. Prior to returning home to Nova Scotia, Laurie spent 11 years in Bermuda in senior financial positions including Vice President of Bank of Bermuda and Head of Finance for Orbis Investments, a global investment management firm.
