Pascal Spothelfer is the president and managing director UBC Venture Funds and the former president and CEO of Genome British Columbia. An accomplished leader, Pascal has held several senior roles, both in Canada and Europe, across industry sectors of technology, not-for-profit organizations and academia. Prior to joining Genome BC, he held the position of vice president of communications and community partnerships at the University of British Columbia (2012–2014). Prior to his tenure at UBC, he was the president and CEO of the British Columbia Technology Industry Association (BCTIA) (2007–2011) and previously the president and CEO at Spectrum Signal Processing Inc., a BC-based technology company (2000–2006).

Pascal has served on a number of boards and is the past chair of the board of Copperleaf Technologies Inc. and the Vancouver Opera. He currently serves as a director of addy and is a partner at Social Venture Partners Vancouver.

Pascal received his PhD in law from the University of Basel, Switzerland and holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
