Prof. Dr. Bruno Holthof is a visiting professor of health innovation in the Nuffield Department of Medicine of Oxford University and investment partner of the EQT Life Sciences Health Economics Funds.
Between October 2015 and June 2022, Bruno was the chief executive officer of Oxford University Hospitals (OUH). OUH employs 12,000 staff across four hospital sites and 44 other locations. During his tenure, OUH made significant investments in people, and the digital and physical infrastructure supporting the world class research, teaching and clinical care taking place in Oxford.
Before OUH, Bruno was the CEO of the Antwerp Hospital Network from January 2004 until September 2015. During this period, he transformed ZNA into the most profitable hospital group in Belgium. Bruno is also chair of the board of Tristel, a global infection control and disinfection product company and member of the board of Financière de Tubize. Tubize is the reference shareholder of UCB, a global biopharmaceutical company focused on improving lives of people with severe diseases in immunology and neurology.
Before becoming a CEO, Bruno was a partner at McKinsey & Company. During this period, he served a wide range of healthcare clients in Europe and the United States and gained significant expertise in the areas of strategy, organization, and operations. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an MD/PhD from the University of Leuven.
