Kristin Martinez

Founder, Sound Point Ventures

Kristin Martinez is a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience in new venture creation and financing, strategic planning, corporate finance, and operations. She is the founder of Sound Point Ventures LLC, a venture development and management company, as well as a senior advisor at OneEnergy Inc., a developer of community and utility-scale solar energy projects, and director at wave-energy company Oscilla Power.

Ms. Martinez was an early investor in sustainability through an angel fund she co-founded in 2000. She has spent the past 20+ years as founder, CFO, investor, director, and advisor to cleantech, biotech, and renewable energy companies. She has served on seven private company boards and six non-profit boards.

Her energy career started at Pepco Holdings in Washington, DC, providing corporate financial and strategic planning. She was part of the startup team of unregulated subsidiary Pepco Energy Services. She was the first CFO of Advent Solar, which was sold to Applied Materials in 2009. She was the CFO of OneEnergy from 2013-2021.

Ms. Martinez has an MBA in Finance and Investments from The George Washington University, and a BS from Boston University.
