Dr. Linda Maxwell is an ENT Surgeon, the Founding and Executive Director of the Biomedical Zone, and Independent Corporate Director. The Biomedical Zone is a Ryerson-affiliated first-in-class, hospital-embedded business incubator. The group helps emerging health technology companies by matching them with industry leaders and its strategic partnership with St. Michael’s Hospital. Through her work, Dr. Maxwell helps strengthen, grow, and build Toronto’s leading health-focused technology businesses.

Under the Harvard alum’s leadership, the Biomedical Zone has supported over 160 innovators, facilitated fundraising for startup companies in excess of $45 million dollars in private investment, supported companies through two commercial exits and engaged in twenty-five hospital innovation projects. An experienced corporate director, Dr. Maxwell serves on the Board of two Nasdaq-listed biotechs: United Therapeutics and ImmunityBio.
