Rob Peabody has more than 40 years of experience in oil, gas and chemicals businesses. He was the President & CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors, of Husky Energy Inc. until its merger with Cenovus Energy Inc. in 2021.

During his time at Husky, Mr. Peabody drove the transformation of the Company into a major integrated North American energy company with a substantial Asia Pacific presence. He introduced senior management diversity and carbon intensity targets and oversaw progress on meeting these as well as a range of other ESG targets.

Prior to becoming Husky’s President & CEO and Board Member in 2016, he spent 10 years as the energy company’s COO. Mr. Peabody has also worked for BP p.l.c in senior positions covering production, refining, chemicals manufacturing, trading, strategy & planning and performance management. He’s led businesses in Canada, Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

Mr. Peabody holds a Master of Science in Management from Stanford University (Sloan Fellow) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Peabody was a member of the Business Council of Canada (top 150 CEOs in Canada). He is a member of the Board of Ignite Calgary, Akita Drilling, and the Calgary Health Trust. He also serves as the Chair of the Foothills Hospital Development Council in Calgary, AB.
