Rohini is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation. As a public interest technology scholar, her interests lie at the intersection of organisation theory (OT) and science and technology studies (STS). She is particularly intrigued by the way technology reflects, reproduces and resists inequality pertaining to race, class and gender. This leads her to examine the politics of technological design and access, as well as the consequences of innovation. Rohini employs ethnography to understand such phenomena through the lenses of infrastructure and social-symbolic work. Rohini completed her PhD in Organizational Behavior from the ILR School at Cornell University in December 2018.

During her PhD Rohini served as the Chairperson of a non-profit makerspace and business incubator in Buffalo, NY, providing research insights on organisational design, strategy, user experience and technology programmes. She also served as a facilitator for the Intergroup Dialogue Project (IDP) at Cornell, in which capacity she helped enhance dialogue across differences (e.g., race, gender, socioeconomic status) through workshops for graduate and professional students. She also hold a master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (major in Finance and Quantitative Techniques) from Jadavpur University.
