Allothera is developing first-in-class small molecules that treat neuropathic pain at its source. Instead of suppressing symptoms through the central nervous system, Allothera targets the skin’s sensory interface — where pain signals begin. The company’s lead program focuses on STOML3, a key regulator of touch sensitivity, to prevent the abnormal conversion of touch into pain. By modulating mechanosensitive ion channels directly and safely in the periphery, Allothera aims to offer effective, non-addictive therapies that restore natural sensation and reduce the €460 billion annual burden of neuropathic pain in Europe.
