See2cure is addressing abdominal metastases with an intraoperative platform that combines detection and treatment. The company’s tumour-targeting protein technology enables real-time fluorescence imaging to reveal hidden cancer cells during surgery, while also delivering drugs directly to residual disease. The platform targets the Thomsen-Friedenreich (TF) antigen (CD176), a universal biomarker found in around 80% of solid tumours, and absent from healthy tissue. Preclinical studies in ovarian cancer models have demonstrated the tracer’s ability to detect micro-metastases and the potential of the system for targeted therapeutic delivery, paving the way for clinical translation.
