Andrew Beswick is currently the head of technology for Davy UK and has over 20 years of experience in public and private markets in the technology sector. He has led multiple top-rated teams at several investment banks and has previously been ranked number one in the II and Extel surveys. He has a strong track record financing early-stage high growth companies, raising over £2B in the last 10 years through IPOs and secondary transactions. Andrew has a reputation for providing balanced corporate advice and a deep understanding of effective investor communications.

Andrew is also a serial entrepreneur, having established and sold businesses in both the U.K. and U.S. and has previously been an expert for the European Commission’s EIC accelerator. Previous ventures have included hospitality, payment technology and internet security. The experience of investing risk capital to build solutions with an uncertain outcome has shaped his approach advising owners of IP and early-stage companies. Successful outcomes are often the result of many small decisions and stress testing assumptions beyond comfort levels.

Additionally, Andrew is an experienced non-executive director and has served on operational committees for strategy, nominations, and remuneration. He has experience representing an activist investor and understands the importance of finding capital that shares the same goals as management. Investors can be a source of more than merely funding, often overlooked in the desire to find financing.

He is committed to stronger environmental policy resulting in decarbonization and has successfully raised capital for wind, solar, compound semiconductors and fuel cells for over a decade. Andrew is also the chairman of Torvius, a company dedicated to helping commercialize environment projects stemming from university research.
