Brian is the CTO of Applied AI at Cloudera, a technology platform that bridges AI to data in all cloud/hybrid/on-premise scenarios. Prior to his role at Cloudera, he was the Chief AI Product Owner, Head of AI in Information Research, and a Senior Research Fellow at global biopharmaceutical company AbbVie. He was a founding member of the QuPharm Alliance and helped organize the Pistoia Alliance/QED-C/QParc Quantum COI. Brian is also the co-founder of Rare Hopes, a not-for-profit organization focused on leveraging advanced AI and data techniques to offer literature evidence backed hypotheses for rare disease treatments using drug repurposing. He is also a board member of the AIHealth4All center at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a past chair of the NSF sponsored Center for Data-Driven Drug Development and Treatment Assessment (DATA) at the University of Michigan.

Prior to work at AbbVie, he led and helped to found the AI Practice for consulting company Publicis.Sapient and was the Lead Technology Architect of the Common Securitization Platform for the US GSE Common Securitization Solutions (now US FinTech). Prior to his time as a consultant, Brian spent over a decade leading technology efforts in software and hardware for high-frequency and proprietary trading organizations.

Brian Martin is now focused on supporting the next wave of high-tech entrepreneurs and ventures. His objective is to contribute to the entrepreneurial community by offering mentorship, strategic advice, and technology support, with a keen interest in founders who have already invested a significant amount of sweat equity towards their vision.
