Doug Lee is a founder, operator, investor, inventor, and mentor with thirty years in industrial water, gas, and energy technology. He founded GLR Solutions, a produced-water treatment company whose technologies are now standard across the global industry. That business operates today as Enerflex Water, and Doug led it as President and CEO through its years of rapid global growth. He went on to senior roles at both Veolia and Suez, where he led their oil and gas technology portfolio.
With his brother Dave, Doug built Inception Oilfield Technologies, an international equipment and OEM channel business. The two then acquired, rebuilt, and sold Azoto Energy, an industrial gas services company. That exit seeded Flathead Forge.
Today Doug is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Flathead Forge, a Houston-based fund. Forge invests in supercycles. Energy is the prime one, and it is driving secondary supercycles in water, critical minerals, and gas. The fund backs the enabling technologies those markets cannot grow without, and it forms companies as well as funding them. Recent formations and portfolio companies include Pivotal Fluid Solutions, Resin8.ai, Prodigy, and Oxide Energy. Doug has also managed his family office, Flathead Equity Partners, since 2009.
He is a named inventor on more than 15 patents and holds an M.Sc. from Louisiana State University. He splits his time between Houston and Montana. At CDL-Rockies and CDL-Texas he mentors founders in the Energy stream, focused on the part of company building he knows best: turning industrial technology into a first commercial sale, a repeatable channel, and an exit.
