Florencia Herra Vega is CEO at AlleyCorp Nord, a Montreal-based technology consulting firm specializing in building products for startups. She is also a partner and CTO at AlleyCorp, the New York-based venture studio and early-stage investor behind companies such as MongoDB, Nomad Health, Zola, Business Insider, and many more.
Florencia is a general-purpose software maker and hacker and likes talking to people about problems solved and/or caused by computers. She was previously the co-founder and CTO of Peerio Technologies, an encrypted communications company, which was acquired by WorkJam in 2018. For the past five years, she has also been a member of the organizing committee of NorthSec, the largest applied security event in Canada. Costa Rican-born, she immigrated to Canada in 2003.
