Joe Horsman is a cross functional leader, focusing on delivering novel application of cutting edge research technology to new fields. He works to shepherd innovative technology from the early ideation and development stage thorough commercial launch. His focus is empowering scientists and driving innovation.

Joe is passionate about bringing cutting edge research out of the laboratory. In addition to his work in genomics business development and product management, he worked to fund early stage start ups as a venture capital associate at the W Fund. His doctoral research focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways involved in the appropriate response to hydrogen sulfide in the model C. elegans.

Joe is a Seattle native who is passionate about the outdoors. He is an avid runner and spends his weekends escaping the city to backpack, climb, backcountry ski and volunteer in the outdoors.
