Scott is the Co-Founder of RiSC Capital in Toronto. RiSC Capital invests in early-stage, Canadian, deep-tech private companies. From 2012 to 2019, Scott was a General Partner with Round13 Capital. It was during his time at Round13 that investments were made in Aislelabs in 2013, in Affinio, in 2017 and in Hubdoc in 2017. These companies have since exited (Affinio acquired by NowVertical Group and Hubdoc acquired by Xero)..

Prior to Round13 Capital, Scott was with GrowthWorks Capital for six years and was a founding partner at Scotiabank’s e-commerce VC group, e-Scotia Acquisition, later renamed Scotiabank Private Equity Investments. Scott has also worked with the MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund (IAF), as an Interim Investment Director and previously a member of the fund’s investment committee.

Notable investments include Verold (sold to Box), BumpTop (sold to Google), Datawire (sold to First Data) and Sysomos (sold to Marketwire).

Scott spent the 1990s going to school (Computer Engineering and Management at McMaster University) and working with startups (Pandesic, Roadware) and large firms (P&G, Intel, SAP) in various tech roles.
