Sten is a Founding Partner of CDL-Estonia. He spends most of his days investing hands-on in the most ambitious early-stage tech founders in Europe as a partner at Plural. As a partner at Skaala he contributes to strategy and investment committee work across all of their asset classes.
Sten co-founded Teleport (acquired by Topia in 2017) as an EIR at Andreessen Horowitz, after serving at Skype as an early executive for over 8 years from startup to the $8.5B exit to MSFT. Sten started his entrepreneurial career by founding the first digital media agency in Estonia in 1996, at the age of 18. Since 2020, he has made investing his full time gig.
Sten values a tolerant, open and creative society, speaks up for entrepreneurship, supports the startup movement, occasionally invests, pushes for better tech education and has advised President Ilves of Estonia on the above.
Sten holds a MS in Management degree from Stanford GSB.
