Steve Turley was the CEO of Perpetuum Ltd. which was sold to Hitachi Rail in 2021. Steve left Hitachi in 2023 after working on the integration of Perpetuum and also on Hitachi’s digital strategy for rail. Perpetuum provides condition monitoring (IOT) information to the rail industry through sensors powered by pioneering energy harvesting technology and sophisticated software analytics.

Steve is the chairman of Eindhoven, headquartered at Effect Photonics, which provides monolithically integrated photonics for the telecommunications and data communications market globally and has facilities in the Netherlands and the U.S.

Previously, he was the chief commercial officer at Bookham Technology, which was a global leader in delivering optical functionality to the optical networking market. His previous career has included leadership experience in general management, sales and marketing, engineering, manufacturing operations, and M&A/strategic alliance roles across Europe, North America and Asia.

Steve holds a bachelor’s in physics from Balliol College, Oxford University and a PhD in semiconductor laser physics from Sheffield University.
