Dr. Tareq Al-Ansari is Executive Director of the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute and Associate Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. His work sits at the intersection of sustainable engineering, energy-water-food systems, food security, circular economy, and resource-efficient infrastructure. He holds degrees in mechanical engineering and sustainable development from University College London, the University of Cambridge, and Imperial College London. His research focuses on life-cycle assessment, decision-support tools, waste valorization, clean fuels, carbon capture and utilization, and the optimization of decentralized energy, water, and food systems. With deep expertise in systems modelling and sustainability assessment, he helps translate complex scientific and engineering challenges into practical pathways for impact.
