Tom Whitehouse is the CEO and founder of Leif Capital, a London-based boutique investment bank and advisory firm focused on energy and resource technologies. Through Leif Capital, Tom works with corporate and financial venture investors, startups, and public-sector organizations, supporting capital raising, strategic partnerships, and the development of corporate venture capital programs.
Tom has more than 25 years of experience in the energy and resources sector and has advised on transactions exceeding $1 billion in aggregate value. He is a Senior Advisor to Global Corporate Ventures (GCV), a research, publishing, and conference organization serving the venture units of the world’s largest corporations.
Earlier in his career, Tom was a political risk advisor and journalist, reporting during the 1990s for the BBC across Central and Eastern Europe from Prague and Moscow, and later serving as The Guardian’s Moscow Correspondent.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Oxford. Since 2013, he has served as a senior advisor to Global Corporate Venturing, where he is Director of the GCV Energy/Resource Council, working with senior executives from major international corporations on innovation and investment strategy.
