The purpose of the CDL Cancer Patient Contribution Group is to bring together a selection of current or former cancer patients to contribute to the early-stage design of next-generation technologies. CDL Cancer is the first CDL stream to work with people with oncology lived experience. The CDL Cancer Patient Contribution Group was founded in 2024 as a pilot, and is now integrated into the core of CDL Cancer.

CDL Cancer’s unique approach to patient engagement is the first of its kind to bring together patient advocacy, the innovation ecosystem, and CDL’s unique process and structure to create a new way of integrating lived experience into deep tech development, ensuring that patient needs are at the centre of the ventures progression through the program. The work results in patient input that is informed, useful, actionable, and scalable, leading to venture outcomes driven by real- world stories, outcomes-based product roadmaps, and building patient champions in the process.

The CDL Cancer Patient Contribution Group brings lived experience both personally and professionally, helping to integrate patient perspectives in a meaningful way for the CDL Cancer ventures.

If you have lived experience as a patient and/or caregiver, and have a scientific and/or business background relevant to the CDL Cancer stream, please reach out to robby.spring@creativedestructionlab.com to learn more about the CDL Cancer Patient Contribution Group.
