Sonia Yousfi is a Senior Applied AI Research Scientist at Mila – Quebec AI Institute, based in Canada. She has over 13 years of experience in AI applied in various industrial sectors such as renewable energy, material discovery and autonomous driving. Before joining Mila, Sonia was an AI research scientist at TotalEnergies (France), where she focused mainly on designing and developing machine learning solutions for renewable energy research projects. She also worked as an expert in machine learning and vision systems at Continental Automotive, building deep learning models for automated driving assistance and autonomous driving systems. Her experience also includes R&D engineering at Orange Labs, where she worked on developing machine learning solutions for video applications. Sonia holds a PhD in computer science from INSA Lyon, France as well as engineering and master’s degrees in computer science from the National School of Computer Science of Tunisia.
