Sonia Yousfi is an applied AI research scientist at Mila – Quebec AI Institute, based in Canada. She has over 10 years of experience in artificial intelligence applied in various industrial sectors such as renewable energy and autonomous driving, involving a wide range of data modalities. Before joining Mila, Sonia was an AI research scientist at TotalEnergies, where she focused mainly on designing and developing machine learning solutions for renewable energy research projects. She also worked as an expert in machine learning and vision systems at Continental Automotive, building deep learning models for automated driving assistance and autonomous driving systems. Her experience also includes R&D engineering activities at Orange Labs, where she worked on developing machine learning solutions for video OCR. Sonia holds a PhD in computer science from INSA Lyon, France as well as engineering and master’s degrees in computer science from the National School of Computer Science of Tunisia.
