Principal, Golden Ventures

Nick Chen leads frontier technology investments as a principal at Golden Ventures. He previously built and led the corporate venture arm of IEX, a top-5 U.S. stock exchange, where he invested in early-stage companies aligned with the company’s digital assets strategy.

As a member of IEX’s leadership team, Nick played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s entry into the digital assets market, and helped to design and stand up multiple “frontier” business units. He began his venture career as an investor at Georgian, an R&D-focused VC firm. During his six-year tenure, Nick led the development of key investment theses around Applied AI and Trust, and spearheaded the company’s research and investing efforts into web3. He also developed the structure for the “Pathfinder” program to invest in early-stage emerging technology deals across key thesis areas.
