Steve Lemon is an entrepreneurial and highly experienced fintech leadership professional.

Currently, Steve is a partner at Volution.vc where they provide extension capital post Series A to fintech and SaaS companies. He is also an angel investor, mentor and advisor to early-stage fintechs.

In 2009, Steve co-founded Currencycloud (which was ultimately exited to Visa in 2021 for $1B) where they were first to market with an FX and Payments API – before embedded finance was a category, and before fintech was fintech (they were New Finance back then).

He is passionate about the digital economy and truly believe that we live in exciting times. It’s new technology that enables innovative new business models and gives the crazy ones opportunities to change the world every day.

Steve has learned that assembling smart people, aligning them behind common goals and getting out of their way can be transformational. Servant leadership combined with cross functional, collaborative ways of working creates massive team engagement – which leads to great outcomes for the end user and ultimately increases shareholder value. Prioritizing in that order makes the magic happen.
