Peter Tufano is a Professor of Finance at Saïd Business School and a Fellow at Balliol College, University of Oxford. For 2021-22, he is a visiting professor at Harvard Business School and a visiting scholar at Harvard Kennedy School’s Mosavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government. He helped to found Business Schools for Climate Leadership ( From 2011-2021, he was Dean at Said Business School. His research has has focused on household finance/fintechs as well as ESG/climate. He is the co-founder of, an innovation lab focused on financial products for low income families.

As Dean, Peter championed various entrepreneurial activities, including CDL, the Oxford Foundry, Map the System, etc. He oriented the school to become more fully embedded in the University and to work to address world-scale challenges.
Prior to joining Oxford, Peter was a faculty member at the Harvard Business School for 22 years. During this time, he assumed a number of leadership roles, serving as department chair, course head, and Senior Associate Dean. He was also the founding co-chair of the Harvard innovation lab (i-lab), a cross-university initiative to foster entrepreneurship.

Peter earned his AB in economics (summa cum laude), MBA (with high distinction) and PhD in Business Economics at Harvard University.
