Michael is a Partner at Aqua Mergers + Acquisitions, a boutique M&A advisory firm specializing in high-tech life science companies and driven by social purpose. He is also currently the CTO of Lavo | FRANC a startup in renewable energy and sustainability.

Michael is a veteran entrepreneur with expertise in AI, Machine Vision and large-scale software engineering having managed and scaled startup companies for over 30 years. He co-founded augmented and virtual reality companies like FTSY (solving problems in footwear and apparel sizing with leading-edge AI and computer vision), and VXT (Virtual reality technology for entertainment) among many others.

Michael is passionate about mentoring early-stage startups. He has taken an Executive-in-Residence position at BCTIA (BC Tech Association), helping to strengthen Vancouver’s commercial technology community, and as an Entrepreneurship Mentor at e@UBC (incubator at University of British Columbia) to support the commercialization of University-based deep science technology research.
