Michael Lorion

President, American Family Direct, American Family Insurance

Michael Lorion is American Family Direct & Homesite president, overseeing leadership of all the direct companies – The General, Homesite and CONNECT – and the overall execution of Homesite’s objective to be the partner of choice in the homeowners insurance business.

Michael joined Homesite in 2009 as chief financial officer. Michael has extensive knowledge of insurance financials and operations as well as deep and longstanding relationships with our largest partners. His recent experience as CEO of Trusted Resource Underwriters (TRUE) has broadened his experience as a leader of innovation and building customer-driven experiences and processes.

Prior to joining Homesite, Michael spent 11 years with Hanover Insurance, a super-regional, multi-line property casualty insurer headquartered in Worcester, Massachusetts. He held several roles at Hanover including Assistant Treasurer, Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Chief Financial Officer of Personal Lines. Prior to Hanover, Michael spent two years with Travelers Insurance in its Massachusetts personal auto operation.
