CDL-Texas operates from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, located in the heart of America’s most exciting innovation and entrepreneurship triangle of Austin, Dallas and Houston. In its first year, CDL-Texas will accept approximately 30 deep-science companies from within and outside the region. During its inaugural program, CDL-Texas will specialize in companies operating on the frontier of Energy and Space. Given its proximity to Houston (the “Oil & Gas Capital of the World”), the majority of these ventures will join the CDL-Texas Energy stream with a focus on developing transformational technologies for the energy industry, such as the diversification of energy systems, the acceleration of renewable sources, and the optimization of existing resource operations. The remaining ventures will join the CDL-Global Space stream, which is an international program based out of multiple locations and designed to support both space and Earth-based technology startups.

Texas A&M is one of the largest universities in the nation with nearly 80,000 students, and one of the few to hold land-, sea- and space-grant designations. Boasting some of the top research programs in the world, total R&D expenditures in excess of $1 billion per year, and more than 25,000 engineering students, Aggieland is noted for its intellectual excitement and innovative pursuits.

At the heart of this research-intensive ecosystem, within one of the fastest growing and most vibrant regions in the United States, sits the top-ranked Mays Business School. By providing leadership-centered, experiential education to more than 7,400 undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students, Mays consistently ranks among the best public business schools for its programs and faculty research. And with a mission to develop leaders of character who make a positive difference in the communities where they live, work, and serve, Mays offers unparalleled opportunities for growing new ventures.
