Paul has been in crypto since 2011, when he first got introduced to Bitcoin via gaming. He is now a Web3 advisor and investor based in Philadelphia. With a robust background in venture capital and private equity, Paul brings a wealth of experience to the blockchain and digital assets space. Currently, he advises a wide range of innovative Web3 projects, including 0G Labs, Avalon Labs, Bima, Core DAO, and Merlin Chain. His role as an angel investor spans over six years, with investments in numerous startups, including 0G Labs, Avail, Compute Labs, Humanity Protocol, and OpenGradient and focusing primarily on pre-seed and seed stages within the Bitcoin ecosystem and AI sectors. He was also the most active Web3 angel investor in the US in 2024.
Before his current endeavors, Paul served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Fancy Studios, where he was instrumental in launching Fancy Birds, a top-rated blockchain game with their token reaching a $1b valuation. His experience also includes being part of the Private Equity Partners team at BlackRock, managing over $40B in assets under management.
Paul’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Strategy, and Management Consulting from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, along with advanced studies at Harvard Business School. He holds Series 66 and Series 7 certifications and is recognized for his achievements in chess, being a four-time national champion and a published author with over 2 million copies sold in China.
