Robert Aldridge is a public health data scientist and Principal Research Scientist at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), where he leads the Clinical Informatics team. He also serves as a Professor of Health Metrics Sciences at the University of Washington and holds a joint appointment as Professor of Public Health Data Science at University College London (UCL). His research focuses on using data science and digital tools to improve public health, with particular attention to equity, infectious disease, and population health measurement. He has led major collaborative studies such as Virus Watch and contributes to the Global Burden of Disease Study. Aldridge works across disciplines with clinicians, engineers, epidemiologists, and policy makers to translate data into health impact. He earned his medical degree from UCL, an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and a PhD in infectious disease epidemiology from UCL.
