Bjoern Hermann is an entrepreneur and product leader with a long track record of building data-driven technology companies that help businesses make better decisions. He is currently part of the founding team at Cynch AI and previously served as VP AI at Sage, where he helped transform Sage into an AI-enabled technology business. He has spent much of his career building products and companies at the intersection of data, software, and entrepreneurship.

Bjoern is best known as the founder and CEO of Compass, a business intelligence platform acquired by Sage, which provided real-time performance benchmarks and contextual data to help business leaders improve decision-making. Before Compass, he co-founded Startup Genome, a globally recognised research initiative on startup performance and growth that analysed data from tens of thousands of companies and became widely used in academia and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. He has also founded and led several other ventures focused on education, innovation, and business transformation, including Blackbox, Startup School, Supercool School, and Education for the Future.

Over the years, Bjoern has worked across Silicon Valley, Europe, Russia, and emerging markets, combining startup experience with strategic thinking about growth, product development, and organisational change. He is passionate about helping founders build scalable businesses, use data intelligently, and turn bold ideas into companies with real impact.
