Adept Materials is commercializing a material technology that actively manages moisture. Its first application is a patented two-layer coating for buildings, addressing moisture – a persistent and costly problem linked to mould, structural damage, and health risks. Adept is developing its own paint and primer to transform paint from a purely decorative product into a multifunctional material that reduces peak humidity by 15–20%, suppresses condensation, and provides thermal control.
