zerothird is developing a pan-European physical infrastructure for quantum key distribution using entanglement-based QKD. Today’s cryptographic keys are distributed over classical channels that can be intercepted, stored, and later decrypted once quantum computers mature, while conventional QKD systems are limited to about 100 km and require dense chains of trusted nodes. zerothird’s approach enables secure key delivery over distances up to 350 km per segment with far fewer nodes, offered through a managed key-as-a-service platform that integrates with existing encryption systems.
