PHAIT, Inc.

PHAIT, a clinical-stage pharmaceutical startup, is repurposing oral Iloprost to prevent lung cancer, the world’s #1 cancer killer. The drug intercepts lung carcinogenesis by stopping the progression of pre-cancer dysplasia that leads to lung cancer. Lung dysplasia cannot be safely removed by surgery. Current chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments target the cancer you already have, typically at late-stage, with major side effects and rarely a cure. Clinical validation from a Phase 2a clinical study led by the University of Colorado showed that oral Iloprost significantly reduced pre-cancer dysplasia in former smokers, supporting its potential use as the first preventive therapy to reduce lung cancer incidence and its recurrence. Targeting pre-cancer with oral Iloprost combined with a worldwide exclusive license to a companion diagnostic that diagnoses dysplasia underscores an unprecedented approach to significantly reduce lung cancer incidence in high-risk populations. Relevance to Patients: PHAIT is developing a drug designed to stop lung cancer before it starts by treating pre-cancerous lung dysplasia – transforming early detection into effective prevention.
