AyrFlo Innovation Labs is developing a wearable airflow sensor that uses ultrasound and machine-learning techniques to monitor post-operative and ICU patients’ ventilation health. Poor outcomes in patients without a breathing tube (non-intubated) are due to the inability of current monitoring devices, such as pulse oximetry and end-tidal CO2, to recognize and respond to respiratory changes in real-time. By providing clinicians with continuous and actionable breathing metrics, AyrFlo’s monitoring device enables earlier prediction and prevention of adverse respiratory events.
