Wayfinder develops therapeutics that neutralize the toxic effects of disease genes by turning them off at the source, their mRNA. Most diseases are driven by disregulated proteins, and traditional therapies try to block these proteins directly. However, despite decades of research, many key targets remain untreatable. Wayfinder, takes a different approach — they develop small molecules that bind to the mRNAs encoding disease proteins, preventing their production in the first place. Their programs are focused on oncology and neurodegeneration.
