Malcolm Kendall is the Founding Partner of CDG Ventures, where he advises and mentors early-stage technology and life sciences companies. He brings over three decades of experience as an entrepreneur, venture investor, and operator focused on company creation and scaling growth.
He co-founded and led Microbiome Insights, a global microbial genomics services company acquired by Mapmygenome in June 2025, and was also co-founder and CEO of Indel Therapeutics, an anti-infective drug discovery company focused on combating antibiotic-resistant infections. Malcolm has also served as a board member and advisor to numerous companies including Semios Technologies and Inimex Pharmaceuticals.
Earlier in his career, he was a life sciences venture capitalist with MDS Capital (now Lumira), Hatteras Venture Partners, and Intersouth Partners, where he invested in and served on the boards of multiple emerging life sciences companies. Prior to entering business, Malcolm served as an Infantry and Special Forces officer in the U.S. Army.
Today, Malcolm works with founders as a mentor, advisor, and board member through programs like Creative Destruction Lab, Life Sciences BC’s Investor Readiness Program, and New Ventures BC.
