Mark Holtzapple is a distinguished professor, inventor, and entrepreneur with a career dedicated to developing and commercializing sustainable technologies. He has been a longstanding Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University. Mark has spearheaded numerous ventures, most recently BioVeritas, a venture-backed leader in transforming biomass into chemicals and fuels.
A prolific innovator, Mark’s work has led to numerous commercialization activities for technologies including a compact, high-efficiency compressor/expander, a nearly pollution-free engine, and novel systems for solar energy and carbon capture. His contributions to sustainable development have been recognized with numerous national and international honors, including the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award and the Odebrecht Award for Sustainable Development. Mark holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
