Robert Kester serves as Partner, Technology & Innovation at Veriten. Robert joined Veriten to leverage his expertise as a successful startup founder in helping entrepreneurs hyperscale their businesses while also contributing his technical knowledge. Along with helping support and grow NexTen’s portfolio of innovative energy-focused companies, Robert offers his background and analytical skills to Veriten’s community of partner companies addressing complex energy issues and strategic decision making.
Prior to joining Veriten, Robert spent five years as the Chief Technology Officer for Emissions Solutions within Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) and previously served as CEO and Co-Founder of Rebellion Photonics, a technology company providing hyperspectral gas imaging solutions for the oil and gas industry. At Rebellion Photonics, Dr. Kester invented the novel snapshot hyperspectral imaging technology, and the company was acquired by Honeywell in 2019. Robert has 25 patents and 26+ pending and has won numerous awards including the Wall Street Journal’s Startup of the Year and a R&D 100.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Laser Optical Engineering Technology from Oregon Tech, a M.Sc. in Optical Sciences from the College of Optical Sciences, University of Arizona, and a Ph.D in Bioengineering from Rice University.
