Alex Robinson is an intellectual property expert with deep expertise in securing and defending patent portfolios for companies ranging from spinouts, startups and scaleups through to multinationals, helping them to develop an IP strategy aligned with their commercial objectives at each step of the way. A Partner at Mathys & Squire LLP in London, a European patent attorney, UK patent attorney and European patent litigator, he has 15 years’ experience in IP. Building on a strong technical background in chemistry (DPhil, Oxford) and molecular biology (MSc, London) he has advised companies in sectors including pharmaceuticals, materials science, biotech and clean energy. He also serves as a General Editor of the “Encyclopedia of UK and European Patent Law,” contributing to the advancement of IP practices in Europe.
