Ben Nyland

Strategic Advisor, Peterson Capital

Currently working as a strategic consultant to early stage, high growth companies, Ben most recently served as President and CEO of Loop Energy Inc., a Canadian developer of hydrogen fuel cell systems designed for commercial vehicles. Under his leadership, Loop evolved from a startup into a TSX-listed company with operations and customers across North America, Europe, and Asia.

At Loop, he led corporate strategy, fundraising, product commercialization, and global expansion. He secured multimillion-dollar financing from public markets and government programs, established manufacturing and sales operations in Canada, China, and the European Union, and built commercial partnerships with leading automotive OEMs and heavy-duty fleet operators. He also negotiated a joint venture in China to support local production of fuel cell systems for the trucking sector. During his tenure, the company grew from 10 to 150 employees and was recognized as one of British Columbia’s fastest-growing companies.

Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership and advisory roles with Rampworth Capital, Exro Technologies, and other technology-driven companies, supporting them through capital raises, market entry, and scale-up. His experience includes corporate governance, international operations, leadership hiring, and board development across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on clean technology and transportation.
