Bruce has over 30 years experience in the energy and environmental industries. His focus is on
engineering and technological development of electro-thermal processes for the recovery of bitumen
and heavy oil as well as remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater.
In addition to a strong technical background, he has experience in corporate development, finance, public company directorship, and the successful execution of small to large projects. He has taken McMillan-McGee from a basement startup to a global enterprise with operations in over 12 countries, including China, with more than 100 employees. The company has completed over 110 successful remediation projects with primarily Fortune 500 companies and large government institutions, from the Harvard University land expansion program to obtaining the most massive sole source contract ever awarded to a foreign company by the United States Department of Energy. The majority interest of McMillan-McGee was purchased by GEF Capital in 2025, with Bruce being a minority shareholder and a member of the board of directors.
Bruce served 18 years in the Canadian Naval Reserve in Maritime Surface Command and Naval Control of Shipping, finishing his service as Executive Officer of HMCS Nonsuch.
