Carly Anderson is an early-stage investor at Prelude Ventures, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm focused on climate. Prior to Prelude, she spent three years building energy and climate practices at the deep tech venture firm, Prime Movers Lab. Carly was the first engineer hired at CO2 capture startup Mosaic Materials (acquired by Baker-Hughes), and began her career developing and deploying new technologies in commercial nuclear power plants with engineering firm DEI. She holds a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Cornell University and a PhD from UC Berkeley, where her research explored advanced materials for the energy sector and low-temperature plasmas. Carly is passionate about creating pathways for new world-positive technologies to succeed and making scientific advances accessible to the broader community.
