Coert brings over two decades of experience across AI, data science, and industrial technology, with a focus on driving human and equipment performance improvements. He is the former CEO of MaxMine, where he secured significant Series A funding and then led the company through a period of 3x revenue growth in 24 months, despite challenging industrial market conditions. At MaxMine, he focused on building the mining industry’s leading data platform for human and equipment performance, leveraging IoT and AI with mass data processing and integrating data driven decisions into the management operating system (MOS).

Prior to MaxMine, Coert led global digital and data transformations at BHP, where he played a pivotal role in redesigning the technology organization across thousands of global roles, cofounded the innovation mine to trial technologies in an operating asset and set the global data strategy. At Deloitte, he was a Senior Partner, focusing on Big Data, AI, and industrial optimization, with a strong emphasis on human safety and education. Currently Coert is the business operations leader with a bay based Stealth Robotics AI startup.

Coert is also an active investor and mentor, advising startups in the areas of EduTech, industrial innovation, and sustainability. His investments include companies like BibliU, Functionly, TeamAhoy, ChemX, and MaxMine. Coert has lived and worked across Africa, Europe, Australia, and the United States. He currently contributes to the Xprize Brains Trust for Energy and Climate and serves on several advisory boards including the 6000 member institute of analytics professionals (IAPA) and is a mentor with CDL – minerals accelerator.
