Diego Cantor

Head of Engineering, Picture Health

Diego Cantor is an entrepreneur, researcher, and engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Diego holds a master’s in computer and systems engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia and a PhD in biomedical engineering from Western University in Canada. Following his doctoral studies, Diego embarked on a post-doctoral fellowship in partnership with IBM Research (Almaden), where he focused on harnessing artificial intelligence for healthcare applications.

Diego co-founded Ezra, a visionary company committed to early cancer screening where he served as CTO. His work there led to the first-ever FDA clearance for a prostate cancer AI in magnetic resonance imaging. Currently, Diego serves as the head of engineering of Picture Health, an American start-up company dedicated to leveraging machine learning applications to advance cancer patient treatment and prognosis. Beyond his professional achievements, Diego is deeply committed to mentorship, focusing on fostering skills in business modelling, strategic communication, fundraising, and effective team development.
