Eric’s background is in mechanical engineering and molecular biology, including DNA replication and diagnostics. He spent 8 years in medical device development, taking ideas from concept, through FDA approval, and commercialization for medical device companies, including two acquisitions. Eric then spent 5 years as a Partner and Head of Diligence for an early-stage medical device venture fund. He has now started Blackwood Healthcare Breakthroughs with two colleagues, concentrating on seed-stage investing in healthcare and life science technology platforms that can gather large amounts of unique data.
