Eric Tan’s background is in mechanical engineering and molecular biology, including DNA replication and diagnostics. He spent eight years in medical device development, taking ideas from concept to FDA approval and commercialization for medical device companies, including two acquisitions. Eric then spent five years as a Partner and Head of Diligence for an early-stage medical device venture fund. He has started Blackwood Healthcare Breakthroughs with two colleagues, concentrating on seed-stage investing in healthcare and life science technology platforms that can gather large amounts of unique data.
