Feng (Susan) Lu is the Gerald Lyles Rising Star Professor of Management at Purdue University’s Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business and Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering. A Northwestern University doctoral alumna, Feng’s pioneering research in healthcare operations, regulations and technologies has won numerous research awards and garnered media attention, including high-profile coverage in outlets like WSJ Barron’s and Freakonomics. Currently, she serves as a department editor of Decision Sciences and an associate editor of Management Science, MSOM and POMS, among the top journals in operations management. Beyond academia, Feng’s knowledge in healthcare has proven invaluable in legal and regulatory contexts, as evidenced by her role as an academic scholar for litigation consulting. She also offered her expert testimony before the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging.
