Kory Mathewson

Senior Research Scientist, DeepMind

Kory Mathewson is a senior research scientist with DeepMind in Montreal, Canada. He holds a PhD in computing science from the University of Alberta with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute. Kory’s research interests include interactive machine learning, human-in-the-loop deep reinforcement learning, human-robot interfaces, and conversational dialogue systems. Before his PhD, he completed his bachelor’s in electrical engineering and his master’s in biomedical engineering. Kory has worked at Twitter Cortex, Google Brain Magenta, and Apple Special Projects Group. He is also accomplished improvisational theatre artist. Kory fuses his interests by developing artificial intelligences to perform alongside.
