Magnus Saar

Director General, Estonian Centre for Defence Investment

Magnus-Valdemar Saar is currently an Advisor at the SmartCap Defence Fund, where he supports investment decisions and strategic development in defence and security innovation. He brings to the role extensive leadership experience from both the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on national defence, procurement, and infrastructure.

Previously, Magnus-Valdemar served as the Director General of the Estonian Centre for Defence Investment, overseeing large-scale defence projects and procurement operations that strengthened Estonia’s national resilience and NATO interoperability. He has also been a Board Member of Logistikaohvitseride Kogu MTÜ, contributing to the advancement of logistics expertise within Estonia’s defence community.
